Talented boys ...

While visiting a friend's farm I took this photo. We thought they looked as if they were about to belt out a tune ...

Armande with Zappa, DOB: 9/16/15

We were blessed with 3 beautiful crias so far this fall - first came Zappa, a darling little dark brown suri. He's already been spoken for ... then, OMG, Mamie was born!! She is a real looker and stole our hearts from day 1. The next day Princess Ava was born, another brown with a few light fawn swipes on her face. She is a cutie too and full of spunk. We are still awaiting one more ........ we can hardly wait!!

Earthy Capelet

This was the project that spent a few months in my lap this winter. I actually finished it in mid-March except for the buttons. It took a few weeks for the capelet to make it upstairs to my project room where I keep my basket-full of buttons. I always enjoy choosing buttons —I can lose an hour or more just sifting through them. (How boring am I??) Many of the buttons were removed from old outfits and bunches were given to me by both of my moms. One of my favorite things on Earth is vintage buttons! For my Earthy capelet, I decided to use some vintage leather buttons from my mom. I feel they compliment the capelet nicely.

This piece is made of 100% Royal Baby-fine Alpaca from our Preferred Herd Yarn Collection making it soooo sumptuous!

Tumbling fleece

Tumbling fleece

One of this winter's projects has been an area to process our own fiber into rovings. This includes a fleece storage/staging area, fiber tumbler, skirting table, picker, washer & drying racks, carder and a home for my antique hand-crank sock machine.

I've only just begun the remainder of last year's clip plus several fleeces we purchased and some given to us. I've done some dyeing as well and the colors are luscious! Visit my alpaca fibers blog for more daily details: http://www.alpacafibers.blogspot.com/

You may also want to visit our website for videos of each process: http://www.turkeycreekalpacas.com/fiber/processing.html

Winter snowmobile festival

Winter snowmobile festival

We have worked through the winter painting and assembling our mobile shop. A few details, like the wall mural are on hold until the weather is kinder to our paints!

The mobile shop will be at various festivals in 2011. Watch for a list of events as we firm up details!
